Too Quirky Quilters

They are Kim Fess and Rebecca Heinze -- two women who love quilting, music and just having fun. They have combined these activities into a unique and entertaining program for your quilt guild, show, retreat or any event you might want to "lighten up." Too Quirky Quilters will delight you with song parodies they have written about their adventures and "misadventures" in quilting, while sharing a trunk show of their own quilts. Let them entertain your quilt guild with their love of quilting and singing. These ladies have been met with rave reviews all over the Northeast and Midwest for this unique and constantly updated program.

Library

Summer Library Treats: Don’t forget our Library Treats (aren’t our library classes treats, and dedicated quilting time treats for ourselves, and a day long mini re-treats???) continue all summer long! There are some adjustments to our previously scheduled activities, so our current plans are:

June 13th, Katie Bopp and her daughter-in-law will be working on denim rag quilts from 6” denim and homespun/plaid squares. Bring extra to swap for variety. Don’t forget that these seams get thick, so bring along several heavy machine needles/denim needles/size 16 needles. Go shop those thrift stores now for those large men’s jeans!

July 11th is Christmas in July for our annual fat quarter drawstring bag production line/”sweat shop.” These bags are donated to St. John Lutheran to be filled with toiletries for the women’s shelter, and other outreach projects as needed. Donations of Christmas fabric fat quarters or personal/travel size toiletries are welcome, but not expected. We may also work on some holiday preemie quilts if Irma needs them.

August 15th we’ll be working on those library project UFO’s to finish up for the show. Bring back and finish those stack and whacks, those half square triangle exchange quilts, those purses and overnight bags, those denim jackets, and whatever else you started at the library. I know they are out there, because they are all in my studio, too! I’d love to group/designate/highlight all our nifty library projects at the show so let’s finish some! We’ll also do a quick service project for the library by sewing up some scarecrow heads for their October scarecrow program. They are also collecting clothes for those scarecrows, so if you have some that are in too bad of condition to donate for others to wear, they are perfect for scarecrows—torn/worn out and so on. They actually have a box available now, so bring the clothes to our next library session as you run across them. I’m sure we can find some patching fabric in those rag bags, too.
